Final Piece - Sources

Sources

Within my final piece I used various different sources to create my final piece. All the sources that I have used you can see below. As you can see the first Image from Za Za Bazaar which is a all you can eat restaurant within Newcastle. I really liked their interior design within their place as I found it very interesting and colourful. The image below this is then graffiti which I found while I was travelling around Manchester, this again caught my eye as I found it very interesting, full of colour and vibrant. Below this, my first print that I did was of Saint Basil Cathedral within Russia, again this is a historic building which is brilliant in its architecture as I love how much it stands out, so much colour and patterns. This I will use within my work as I will again make it in the style of one of the artists that I researched, Allison Diaz as I really like the work that I did with that artist as it is similar to the source images that I have of the Graffiti and Za Za Bazaar. I also used the graffiti within my work on John Stezaker. My final print drawing was of Florence Cathedral which is known for its Gothic Style as it is renowned all over the globe for its brilliant Architecture and it is just beautiful. Both of these buildings are both places which I wish to visit.

Carole Benzaken - Research

Carole Benzaken

Carole Benzaken is an artist that was born within 1964 within Grenoble, France. She now works within Paris where she is an artist but also teaches art. This artist uses very techniques to show multiplicity.

Bubbles

Within this piece as you can see there is the background that looks like lights and within the bubbles there is then pictures of people and buildings. This I believe is to maybe show situations that the artist really enjoyed and people that she likes etc. I really like this piece of art work for the style and the way she uses multiple images as I believe that I will be able to then create my own versions of this with pictures of buildings and art work that I have created. This I will then go fourth and explore for my final piece as I will then create it based on this particular art work. All the rest of her work is similar as you can see with the images I have collected. This then crosses over with the artist John Stezaker.

Cassanda Jones - Development

Development

Pile up

As by looking at Cassanda Jones' artwork I was then able to create art work of my own by using previous art work that I created. This then creates a good effect as this was the art work that I did from Alison Diaz. Within these pieces I was just experimenting on various different methods that I could present multiplicity. It could be considered that this art work is about how we have to keep on building and developing as we can't live within the same buildings forever as every building will eventually, fall down. As you can see below I have created various different of the same places, experimenting with colour and placement.

Cassanda Jones - Research

Cassanda Jones

This artist pulls various different elements which she has found from long-exposure photography that she has taken of stormy skies. Using these photographs she then used them to form patterns as by using small parts from lightning strikes she was then able to form drawings of circles and rabbits. This is her most famous work as you can see below.

Rabbit

As you can see within this art piece, Cassandra has created a line drawing of a rabbit from lightning strikes which I believe is just magnificent. She has formed a piece of art through the weather. I believe that this is really creative. This links to my project because the multiplicity of the images that the artists has used. Apart from the rabbit I really like the way the artist has piled up the images, it is the same for the ones with the circle. I will do this with some of the art work that I have created to try make a piece.

John Stezaker - Development

Development

As you can see below I have created various different development pieces using images of me and my friends and then pictures which I have taken of various different buildings and graffiti which I liked. From this I was then able to create lots of different art pieces in the style of John Stezaker. I think that is successful as you can see below. These link to my project as of the use of multiple imagery as I have also used images from buildings, especially buildings which I particularly liked but also used spray paint which portrays a message.

Skulls

I have taken an image of me and my friends and I have then used an image, taken from Manchester of graffiti which is a skull spray paint can. I have stuck this on top of each of my friends heads due to the fact that it portrays the image that just because we are young it means that we are rebels, as seen in the eye of the media. When really we are just going out and having fun just like they did when they were younger. This links to my project as I have used imagery from buildings and I have layered them up to create a multiple image effect in the style of John Stezaker. As you can see below I have also used another piece of graffiti which mainly consisted of stickers on the same photo to create a similar effect which I think looks really good but instead I have decreased the opacity.

Town Hall

Within this image I have taken a photo of me and my friend after our Leavers Ball, I have then stuck the image of Nottingham Town Hall over the top of it. This is to portray the image that we are both superior and we will get places in life as we could work ourselves into great buildings just like the Nottingham Town Hall. This then links to my project as of the use of multiple imagery and buildings.

John Stezaker - Visual Research

Research

John Stezaker is an artist that attended the Slade School of Art in London, Graduating with a Higher Diploma in Fine Art in 1973. This work was mainly to react against the dominant pop art. By using images found in books, magazines and postcards he then creates his art. The whole point of his art is documentation of the truth, showing memory and the symbol of the modern culture.

Marriage

As you can see withi this piece John has used an image of two people and then stuck an image of a river running through, what looks like a mountain. This is showing there divide. This could be the documentation of the fact that although that they are married they will always be separate people and never be together in a sense. I really like the contrast of the image as it brings more attention to the mountains. I really like this affect and I will portray this within my work. I will experiment with this similar effect of multiple images.

Formal

Within this image as you can see there is a man within a suit and there is then a picture of a fall, which is actually a beautiful image. This could be that this guy needs to relax and set his mind free as he could be stressed within his work. It could also be due to the fact that he has a memory of when he used to be free as he may be stuck within his job.

Allison Diaz - Further Development

Further Development

As you can see below I have created various different other forms of my development from Allison Diaz as I have played around with the Gradient of the image, I have also included the original image of the building with it. I have experimented a lot to see the various different methods I could use multiplicity. I have also used prints that I created within the start of my project.
